Any person who would repeatedly take a "timeshare tour" to get a free or discounted vacation is scum. This industry gives people a massive discount on a vacation to "take a look" at their product. If it's not for you, that's fine. IF you continue to use these offers for your own gain, you are messing with "karma" and you will be paid back in the end. Don't waste your or the people in this industry's time because you are too cheap or broke to pay your own way. I own several timeshares and they are a great deal if you want to treat your family to 500+ per night accomodations without spending a ton of $. Sadly some people blow thousands of dollars and stay in crappy hotels, when all they had to do was buy a timeshare and they would save huge $ in the long run.

I signed up for the 'pitch' in Hawaii after i got tickets to an attraction, the salesperson offered each of us $100 to take the tour. It was very educational and a nice time until we let them know that there was no way we'd sign on the dotted line right then. Then the guy they brought in to close the deal gut real ugly with us. I expect someday someone might just punch him out! anyway we had $200 to play with on a morning we had nothing planned and were on our way before noon.

Yeah I have, it's worth it if you're broke! The only thing is, you have to stay for the ENTIRE 90 minute presentation. At the end of the pitch, you shouldn't say no, just say you have to discuss it, you don't make you're decisions over night and have to think about it. Otherwise, they are pissed that you used them for the vacation, and the vibe quickly turns crappy. (trust me on that one.) On you're tour, don't show how much you think the place is gorgeous, if they think you love it they will lay the sales pitch harder. Other than that, the deals are great, I had a great time. I did this in Daytona. If you're staying long enough and have the time, go to some other timeshares and take their tour (30-60min presentations) and get tickets to other Orlando attractions OR save those places for you're next vacation ( you can't hit them up twice). Oh, I almost forgot, you have to tell them you make at least 50 grand a year (they can't and don't check). You can do this in other Florida vacation spots as well as in Vagus, Hawaii, and a bunch of other places I can't remember off the top of my head. I haven't experienced or heard of any "catch". Have fun!

EXCUSE YOU GLENN B! If you truly believe in karma, it's going to bite you in you're azz for making such an ignorant comment about us! Get over it jerkoff.

I have not attended one...yet. Although, my boyfriend has. The discounted package you read in the paper is the spark to get you to go listen to them in the first place. And from what he has told me about the ones he has attended, you basically sit through a speech with them trying to sell you timeshares (a house that basically you can stay at for vacations) After wards they will award certain prizes. iPod, laptop, televisions, crappy gift certificates, or timeshares. It depends on how many people show up to the conference. The less people, the better your chances are on winning a great prize.

If you have the time to attend one, go for it. You'll walk away with something, even if it is not what the ad stated. Just make sure that the pitch is legit and all should be good.

That's how we used to vacation all the time right in Orlando, Daytona, etc. Do it. And after you do that one......go on another one. Just make sure you keep telling the salesperson no. Don't let them talk you into it. Some will give you prizes and/or free breakfast or lunch. We used to have so much fun! Why would you need to buy a timeshare when you can keep vacationing at discounted rates?
