Is bidding 0.99 cents on a Nintendo Wii Fit Console bundle package on eBay a good idea?

spitfyre asked:

I’m on the market of purchasing a Nintendo Wii Fit console bundle package. Best Buy, Circuit City, and other retailers seem to be running out of stock, because of the holidays. I’ve recently checked on eBay and found package biddings ranging from 0.99 cents to $700 dollars brand new still sealed in packaging!

Does this seem too good to be true to bid on a bundle package for 0.99 cents? And yet there are a lot of sellers selling for this price!

What would be the way to purchase the Nintendo Wii fit console bundle package without getting burned?

lol, thats the starting price. It’ll increase over the days. Its not a bad idea, by its very easy to top $1 so you most likely won’t win.

On EBay, 99 cent start offers, are normally just starting bids. Trust me, it’ll become fertile ground for a bidding war, and before the end, it’ll be at, near, or even possibly ABOVE, the market price of $90.

The seller isn’t selling the bundle for $.99, they set that as the starting price to attract bidders. Bidding $.99 would be a waste of time, simply because at the end of the day you’ll be indefinitely outbid. If it’s a system with the wii fit game, it could probably end up around $500, so just give it time and bid once the end time is nearer.

Sure. Just don’t expect your 99 cent bid to hold up. Very rarely do things actually sell for their minimum bid - even rarer for something like a popular game console.

I think you need to research how eBay auctions work.
