Yes, UPS will deliver anything possible Mardi Gras day. There are certain areas that can not be delivered to because of parade routes but otherwise drivers will do whatever they can.
Call 1-800-PICK-UPS to speak with a customer service rep.

I think EVERYONE should observe Mardi Gras, but my family’s from Louisiana and now lives in California so we get cheated out of the holiday. But that’s just my opinion.
Do you know what service your package was shipped with? Depending on what service the shipper used it’s possible the package got to New Orleans already but isn’t scheduled to be delivered until tomorrow or the next day. For example, if it was shipped yesterday using 2 day delivery even though it already arrived they aren’t going to deliver it until Wednesday. More than likely what you are seeing is that it has arrived at a UPS hub, which is technically still considered an “in transit” location. In general, if a package doesn’t show a status of “out for delivery” by about 10 or 11 in the morning it’s not going to get delivered that day. You also have to remember that not every package requires a signature to be delivered and left at the location. Call back and see if they can find out whether a signature is required or if the driver can just drop it off if no one’s home to sign for it.

They do but they dont guarantee delivery times due to the difficulty of getting to pick up and delivery areas.

if they do bring ti today ti won’t be till the evening because the trucks can only go certain places. they can’t travel a good chuck of uptown and downtown.

It is a working day for the private carriers, and they will deliver where possible.

I got my package on Mardi Gras. I was doubtful too but it was waiting for me when I returned. Kinda nice.
