Planning a Vegas trip for cheap?

acb asked:

Is it better to book a vacation package or book hotel and flight separate? Any advice on where to find good deals?

It all depends on where you are travelling from. I usually book directly from the hotels using a promo code to get a discount rate.
If you have to do a vacation package, try Southwest Airlines Vacation or United Airlines Vacation.
If you have to book directly from the hotels, here are a few weekday check-in special deals you can get for hotels right on the Vegas Strip using Promo Codes.

    Circus Circus $42 /night +freebies
    Excalibur $61 /night +freebies
    Luxor from $69 /night +freebies
    Imperial Palace $54 /night
New York New York $64 /night
    Monte Carlo $69 /night
    MGM Grand from $89/night +freebies
    Mandalay Bay $109 /night +freebies
    Mirage from $85 /night +freebies
    Treasure Island from $99 /night +freebies
Here are the promo codes you will need to get these deals:

My sister just came back from Vegas and said that it has gotten rather expensive especially in the area of food costs. When my husband and I got married there 13 years ago, it was fairly inexpensive. It seems that it has changed some in that respect. I would guess that going with a package might be cheapest. It was for us but that was a long time ago.

    Hello ACB,

Vegas is an expensive city to visit. You will do best by looking ahead of time online to find the best deals. Search around on the travel sites and look for the deals they post. Alot of time if you look around they will post hot sale fares to vegas. To save money I always recommend staying a block or two off the strip. You can save alot of money and still be in the heart of the action. Other than that I recommend this guide to the free stuff to see and do in vegas.

Check SW airlines vacations…usually hard to beat for flight and room together..also have some pretty good air fares if you book the get away specials….i4vegas.com for rooms…..stay downtown on Fremont Street at one of the older hotels…much less expensive than the strip hotels…..not near as fancy, but resonable and clean…Fremont, 4 Queens, Plaza, Golden Nugget…and more! Good Luck and have a great time!
