Go to hotwire.com. Choose the level of hotel you want (star rating). I suggest getting something on the south or center strip since that is where the newer hotels are. You will be given a choice based upon a map. I have used hotwire just about every time I have gone to Las Vegas, and NEVER been disappointed. Through hotwire I’ve stayed at the Aladdin more than once, and the Monte Carlo a few times too for less than $50!

Memorial Weekend is hard on any pocket book traveling wise. I would suggest direct booking only through the hotel’s website. DO NOT CALL or STOP BY the hotel upon arrival. A gentleman that was behind me in the check-in line last week did not understand why he had to pay so much more for a room. Hotels are like any other business in Vegas and what I mean by that is they want to make money.
Try becoming a casino club member as fast as possible (ex: Luxor’s casino club is called the One Club). You can sign up via their website and they will give you discount room offerings. It is free to do so at any casino.
Otherwise, I suggest staying a block off of the strip. The smaller hotels that are now in the shadows of the monsters on the strip always advertise cheap vacancies and you don’t have to walk far to get to the fun. Heck you are in Vegas so you won’t be spending that much time in your room!
Have fun!

you coul;d probably get a good deal at one of the local casinos like sam’s Town or some of the station casinos.. closest to the strip would be Palace Station.
