What should i do this summer?

ive got 2-3months to do something this summer, july-september time and i dont want to do the 2week package holiday thing. ill have about £1000 saved by that time. i would love to travel about a bit or work somewhere for that time, ha anyone done something they could recommend or give me ideas?? thanks.
